Attention All Men - Especially Christians
We all know it really is about the looks, so please won't you just admit it and collect your shallow card?
I am so sick of the men that say it isn't about the looks, and then their actions prove how they really feel. There may be a precious few out there for whom it really is the interior beauty and to you I raise my respect and ask that you educate your fellow homo sapiens.
For the rest of you, it is time to be honest and 'fess up. When you are filling out your personality questionnaires and profiles on the internet dating sites such as EHarmony, Christian Cafe, and the like, please admit that looks are important to you so that they won't match you with those of us who are honest that our looks are less than stellar. You do no one any favors by being impressed with our intellect, insight and wit, or telling us that our answers matched yours perfectly, and then never communicating with us again once you see what we really look like.
For everyone I heartily recommend researching a resource by Pastor Tommy Nelson of the Denton, TX Bible Church. It is a series based on the book of the Song of Solomon and it speaks to the art of attraction, dating, courtship, intimacy, conflict, romance, and commitment the way God intended it to be. I don't know how long the link will be good, but for now, here's a link to a broadcast featuring Pastor Nelson speaking on this topic: http://www.familylife.com/fltoday/default.asp?id=9102
